Flowers are the final touch we bring in to every project for our photo shoot day. The idea and aspiration of our magazine-ready photos is to have fresh flowers weekly to bring colour, energy and life to a room.

Here are our favourite flower shops:

"Ave and Dav" - The string of four flower shops in a row on Avenue Road just south of Davenport is my go-to spot for our photo shoot flowers! If one shop doesn't have what you like, you can just pop over to the one next door and you'll be guaranteed to find what you are looking for. The freshness and price point of these flowers can't be beat. They also bring in hard-to-get flowers like the bright pink peonies I picked up in late November for our Forest Hill project (as seen below).

Botany Floral Studio - A small but mighty west end gem. This shop has a special place in my heart since I worked here for a year before getting started in the interior design industry. They are known for whimsical, garden-inspired arrangements and have a beautiful selection of plants. If I need something hand-tied and sweet for a gift I will pick it up from here.

Adam and Davis - A stunning option for special event flowers. The colours and attention to detail is unmatched. They put together flowers for a celebration at my client's home and the arrangements (pictured below) were next level!

We also love working with branches like eucalyptus when just a hit of green is all a space calls for.

When it comes to arranging, we tend to gravitate towards a "looser" feel as opposed to tight bouquets for a more organic-inspired look. We also work in odd numbers of threes and fives for balance (i.e. three roses in a bouquet, five hydrangeas, etc.). And we use a mix of "filler flowers" aka textured and smaller buds with "focal flowers" which are typically larger blooms with lush petals and a prominent centre.

Are you as much of a flower lover as me? Did I miss any amazing shops in Toronto? Let me know as I always like to have options!
