Hallways: How to Make this Transitional Space Stand Out
Hallways are transitional spaces often overlooked, but with a little bit of intention they can become beautiful spaces to experience as you pass through every day.

A beautiful runner in a stripe or vintage design adds visual interest, comfort underfoot, and can accentuate the length of your hallway.

Some of my favourite places to shop for runners:
Mellah Rugs - local to Toronto in Roncesvalles with shipping options available. It is literal Moroccan rug heaven with a mix of vintage and new pieces. I try to use at least one Mellah rug in every project because they are so soft, gorgeous, and feel amazing underfoot.
Etsy - Read the reviews always, but you can find some excellent well-priced options.
ECarpetGallery - based in Montreal, with shipping options available. They have a huge selection of vintage rugs. The photography on the website is excellent so you can really get a sense of the rug you'll be receiving without seeing it in person first.

A hallway is the perfect place for a framed series of prints, family photos, or a statement piece of art that you can admire as you walk by daily.

Don't underestimate the power of repetition. Repeating light fixtures, rugs, or art is pleasing to the eye and adds a bold, purposeful statement.

If there’s room, a bench or a plant can add a calming moment for your eye to rest.
I love real plants, but appreciate good faux options when sufficient light or upkeep isn't possible. Here's my favourite faux olive tree that I have in my bedroom: 6 feet high - https://link.amazon/B042PTtmN and 7 feet high - https://link.amazon/B0e56XXI8
